July 2007 - Homeward Bound filed its articles of incorporation

August 2007 - Homeward Bound applied for 501c3 status and opened at our first adoption center, PetSmart on Craig and MLK, adopting out 11 cats and kittens in the first weekend. Thanks to Channel 13 and Channel 8 for awesome media exposure!

September 2007 - Homeward Bound received its 501c3 tax exempt status

October 2007 - Homeward Bound works in synergy with other cat rescue organizations and opens its second adoption center at the PetSmart at Eastern/Russell

November 2007 - Winter Wish tree kicks off

December 2007 - 27 adoptions in the four days before Christmas

January 2008 - Six month anniversary ... almost 200 kitties adopted out to date

February 2008 - Honor your Pet's Vet kick offs

June 2008 - 400th kittie adopted during Adopt-a-Cat Month!

July 2008 - One year anniversary!

August 2008 - Low cost spay/neuter program offered to residents in the community.

October 2008 - Carol Fox, President of Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions, named as the 2008 Animal Rescue HERO by the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada. Click here and here for more info.

November 2008 - Homeward Bound opens its third adoption center at the Petsmart on Charleston/Decatur!

December 2008 - Second Annual Winter Wish Tree kicks off and Homeward Bound adopts out over 80 cats and kittens during the month of December

January 2009 - Homeward Bound was honored by the good people at Goosearch.com and featured on their home page as the Charity of the Day and gained 987 new visitors on the website and over 100 searches credited to Homeward Bound.

February 2009 - PetSmart offered Homeward Bound the opportunity to have a fourth adoption center at a new store scheduled to be open in July 2009.

March 2009 - Homeward Bound participates in the City of Henderson's Bark in the Park with a leash trained kitten, Valentino, and shared info about its programs and services to over 1000 visitors waiting to pet this special kitten!

April 2009 - Homeward Bound participated in the 10th Annual Pet-a-Palooza and attended the National Humane Society Conference here in Las Vegas!

May 2009 - Homeward Bound participated in PetSmart's Adoptathon placing 13 cats and kittens in 'fur-ever' homes. Pet parents adopted a great kitty for their family and Petsmart and Purina donated ProPlan food and Tidy Cat litter to each new family.

June 2009 - Homeward Bound publishes its first newsletter and will celebrate its 1000th cat adoption!

July 2009 - Homeward Bound raises over $1300 in funding at its annual charity yard sale. All monies go to help pay for spays and neuters on kittens coming in from foster as a result of kitten season.

August 2009 - Despite an economic downturn, Homeward Bound found homes for over 35 cats and kittens in Southern Nevada in August.
