Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions
Saving a Life Will Change Yours

Adopt A Cat!

open by appointment

daily 12pm -6pm

Because adopting a cat or kitten, or any other pet, is a serious decision, Homeward Bound has adoption counselors trained to assist you with finding the perfect lifetime companion. They will help you get to know your prospective new feline friend, answer questions, and provide information about cat behavior and care.

Our questionnaire is designed to help place our animals in the best possible homes and guide our conversation about adoption. We strongly recommend completing the adoption form prior to visiting and allow for 48 - 72 hours for processing. Happy adopting!

Adoption center

Adoptions are by appointment for adult cats and kittens at our adoption center. Appointments will be within the hours of 12 noon to 6pm daily. Contact us to stop by, visit and meet the cats!

We recommend filling out the adoption form in advance through the link below. Adoptions will happen in person, at our adoption center. Most cats at our adoption center are adults; however, we will also have kittens from time to time as they are available. Questions? Please leave a message at 702-329-9771.

The adoption center is located at 2675 East Flamingo Road, Suite 3, in Las Vegas.

Petco adoptions currently on hold

January 4, 2022: Adoptions at Petco are temporarily on hold as a precautionary measure for safety and health reasons stemming from COVID. Kittens will be available for adoption, by appointment, at our adoption center, as we have them available. Right now, we have only a few kittens at a time, and we expect they will be adopted quickly, so if you are interested, act fast! Please follow the below steps to meet our kittens. Happy adopting!

Please complete the adoption form and allow 48 - 72 hours for processing, then we'll call you to schedule an appointment. Appointments are not for specific kittens, but rather to meet all of the available kittens we have at that time. The adoption will take place in person, after a conversation based interview, and you will take your kitten home the same day. Questions? Please leave a message at 702-329-9771.

  • Complete the adoption form online (link above).
  • We will call you for a brief interview before scheduling an appointment to meet kittens.
  • Print your adoption form (if you can) and bring it to your appointment.
  • Bring a cat carrier with you to take your new family member home.

Adoptions resume (we hope) in February at our Petco storefront, located at 2340 East Serene Avenue. We're there most Saturdays, from 11 am to 4 pm, with exceptions as the kitten population changes, or if we do not have kittens for adoption.

Some of our Adoption Policies:

  • Landlord approval requested for renters; please bring a copy of the lease.

All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received age-appropriate vaccines. Many adults may have also received other health exams or medical care, and an adoption counselor will go over any specific details with potential adopters.

Kittens:  Kittens are very active.  We want our kittens to grow up in homes where they will have the companionship of family members or other pets throughout most days.  Some kittens are bonded with littermates and depend on a companion kitten in order to feel safe and confident.  That’s why we discount the adoption fee for two kittens adopted together.

Young Adults: Many of the younger adults are playful and active, and thrive in the companionship of other cats.  Please consider adopting in pairs.

Mature Adults: Usually less active than the youngsters.  Some like kitty companionship.  Others prefer to be only pets.

Senior Cats: Many were left homeless when their owners passed away. Mend a heart and gain a forever friend.

Special Needs Cats: As a no-kill organization, we care for cats with special physical, health or behavioral issues. You may find warmth and gratitude in these special cats as you enrich their lives.
